Nice one, these look utter crap, especially in SON lanterns with such good optics like this.

A local college here fitted corn cob lamps to their lanterns and they were dim, loads of them failed and a lot snapped at the base so rattled around in the bowl lol

I don't know how anyone can fit one of these and walk away thinking it was a job well done. I guess they don't see them lit up at night as they are complete crap! At least the Osram or Philips filament ones would work with the opitcs better than this.

A local retail park here started fitting these in their MH lamped Urbis ZX3's and albanys as the lamps failed, they were so dim at first I thought they had leaked EOL CDM lamps until I saw these fitted!

It must have been very close. If these are anything like the sapphire you can get a 70W elliptical SON to fit but anything larger would struggle I think.
