You've got an electric bar fire as well! I have one because there is no noisy fan and tbh, I love the warm glow.

must have been installed in a dry location then, as outdoors in the open they allways leak water in and grow moss in abundance

No, this was on top of a cast iron column located in a residential street. No idea why it's survived this well....
