Old street light picture in Crosby
A great picture at Moor lane roundabout in Crosby, Liverpool showing some of the Revo lanterns that were once common in the area until the 1980s when they started to be replaced. Note also the VHF television aerials in the shape of an 'H' and an 'X' on the chimney stacks. UHF was introduced in the late 60s with the then new aerial design, as still used today. With the open back bus this picture would date as 1960s or early 70s. One of the green columns managed to survive until roughly 2021, the others having been replaced decades earlier with corrosion being cited as the reason in the local paper.
