Yes, its a genuine cast iron isco cut out, filled with bitumin , has 2 pot fuses, so its even double pole isolation !

and not to mention, its wired in black rubber !

Lol just how it was in the early 50s then! It's amazing how many of those tar filled cutouts are still in service in people's houses today. Down in St Ives recently there were similar looking cut outs feeding people's houses incoming cable was about 4.0mm but pyro people had 10Kw electric showers off them 😂

This lead service actually has rubber insulated conductors within the lead sheath, which is protected with steel armoring bound with oil impregnated rope

Probably still miles and miles and miles of that still live to this day

seen wpd open these cables up loads of times, they use a plastic hack knife to slit the lead to expose the cores, then snip them one at a time, then pot end the cable if its damaged

yes the hardwood backboards original, was all jet washed before fitting. All parts fitted were used items from the 50's as would have been fitted from new
