Mk1 beta 2's and MK16 beta 5's circa 1986 to 89, = full of water and clumps of moss growing out the gasket

nowt wrong with the lantern design as such, its just the gasket material they used, it was a design flaw they didnt look into. It was an injected gasket out of a gun, not a stick in one like the older models

it attracts water like a bath sponge, then stays sodden, then you get green slime growing, which later turns into clumps of moss, when it rains the wet bowl just sucks water in the lantern as the gasket is allready wet and slimy
