not tried em yet, i have a handfull of these found over many years, dont think any of them worked properly, think they all dayburned

Can they be opened non-destructively? Could just be a failed capacitor

no, theres no electronics in these, just a bi metal switch with a heater panel on it, and a cell thats it. no you carnt open these, they are heat bonded together, unless the bond breaks due to natural causes

Ive managed to get my P5s and one SS4 open and fix them with no damage. Mine had cracked cones so i gently prized the cone apart that way and looking at them now youd never realise that id replaced the eyes in them
