DIY 1000 - 2000w Gearbox for High Voltage lamps

DIY control gearbox for 1000 or 2000w high voltage type metal halide lamps on 240v mains.

The gearbox contains 2 Parmar 1000w YHB04024521 ballasts which can be ran singly for 1000w or in parallel for 2000w operation.
The input voltage can also be regulated down with an external variac to run such lamps as 1500w MBIL/H and US 1500w halides.
Features a selectable Philips SI54 parallel ignitor.

The wiring is a bit messy but it is what it is.
I didn't have a suitable toggle switch rated to handle the high OCV these ballasts produce so I used a contactor to switch the ignitor in and out of the circuit.

This sucker weighs in at slightly over 40kg!
