GE 1500w Sportlight Linear Metal Halide (MBIL/H): Full Power.

1 x 1500w linear metal halide lamp running at full power in a cheap 1500w tungsten halogen fitting.

The light output from this lamp is very impressive! It has quite a good CRI and is a nice crisp daylight colour with a good red content.

Initially, the halide dose was concentrated at one end but after an hour or so of run time this had diffused quite nicely.

Extended running of this lamp pretty much destroyed the cheap 1500w halogen fitting. It kicked out so much heat that it warped the the reflector completely out of shape (you can see a bit going on at the bottom already) and it smoked the internal wiring!
I have since acquired a proper Thorlux unit designed for 400w SON-TD to run these MBIL/H lamps in!
