2000w GE Sportlight 960: Full Power

Arcstream photograph of a 2000w General Electric Spotlight quartz metal halide lamp.

It's quite bright and has a nice colour but I can't decide if I prefer the 2kW Osram HQI-T/D.

This lamp could probably do with quite a longer run as this was taken after about half an hour.
The patch of condensed halides on the right wasn't there when the lamp was new and formed after about 5 minutes.

Unusual arc core in there?, it so powerful it seems to have grown fat filling the whole tube! Cool

Most of the big 2kW halides have a similar shaped arc, where the arc is thin at the ends where it is electrode stabilised but then fattens out in the middle!

I'm wondering what is the halide chemistry of this lamp, having Ra8=96.
