Thorn 50w Pearlescent SON-E: Full Power

1 x Thorn EMI 50w pearlescent SON-E lamp at full power.
A nice side view of a 50w SON lamp with a pearlescent outer envelope.
Quite nice lamps these and although the pearl finish transmits more light, I think the traditional coated finish does a much better job at diffusing the light.

These are some of the most pleasant son lamps there is. The light output from these pearl thorn ge etc lamps is beautiful. Especially the warm up period

They do look very cool to observe! A traditional SON-E emits a softer light though IMO.
I'd have loved to see a pearlescent CMH lamp!
