Philips SGS203 with Philips CorePro LED Retrofit
While waiting at Helsby railway station, I noticed that most of the lanterns lighting up the platforms have been retrofitted with Philips' own True Force CorePro LED retrofit lamps.

To be fair these are good lamps and the filament technology does mean that they make full use of the existing lanterns optics that were designed for traditional HID lamps.

I'd much rather see these being installed rather than the usual COB rubbish!

I like these Trueforce lamps. MK did use them for a short time, currently have a installtion of these in our last main road lanterns which are Urbis ZX2s and SGS203s near Kingston Milton Keynes.

If these lamps had been released in around 2012, it probably would've resulted in a lot more retrofit schemes rather than full lantern replacement. The actual lanterns themselves were absolutely fine.

Indeed. Especially the LEDvance amber versions that look exactly like SON!

Agree with the above at least the existing good quality lanterns remain with a replaceable lamp and not a shitty corn POS

These seem to be getting used more widely Now. Shit that they didn’t come out all them years ago!
