Vintage ornate cast iron columns
|
The area around Liverpool's Central Library and St Georges Hall has loads of these very ornate cast iron columns around them.
I've no idea how old these are but as the above buildings were built between 1841 and 1860 they are probably from around them!
They are currently warm white so are burning either Philips CityWhite lamps or have been LED'd.
I've found some old photos from the 1850's and they were there then.

Mad to think they could have been standing there for almost 185 years!
Oh, and if anybody is watching the Netflix show "House of Guinness", keep and eye out as you will see these and the surrounding area in some scenes.
It seems Liverpool is quite popular for filming, it usually stands in for Gotham City!
