Thorn Civic
Very much a marmite lantern, the Thorn Civic was always described as looking somewhat like a shoe. Its never been a lantern installed around this area, I can only think of a few installed on A roads, and a small installation on private ground. Had it not been for Mike Barfords writeup on his website, I wouldn't have wanted one of these.

I managed to acquire this NOS example still in box a while back now, geared for 100w SON it makes a very nice addition to the collection seeing as I only have another 2 or 3 100w SON lanterns. The smooth silver finish really suits the lantern imo. Despite being unused, somehow a screw fixing the ballast into place had come loose and left the ballast rattling round inside, thankfully though no damage was caused. Its infuriating that the lamps get banned next year, especially in instances like this where perfectly serviceable equipment gets denied any use at all just because someone thought saving a few watts of power is worth it. Still, its another lantern that'll see out the years safely within a collection.

The secondary school near my house has them in the carpark, though they’re full cutoff and they’re running SON-E.

Always thought these looked ugly too. Every local example I know of, such as the council 'recycling' depot, always seems to be badly corroded with the paint falling off. Not one of Thorn's better offerings.
