Proper Control Gear
This is what real control gear looks like not the crap you see when you open a modern lantern. This 80w gear is still operating its Revo Prefect lantern in 2016 and the clock dates it to 1972. That's a phenomenal 44 years of service and the clock even keeps time! I gave it a new lamp last week as the one I fitted in around 2009 had packed up. This particular example is not on the council inventory and has managed to fly under the radar for decades untouched!

Love that time switch, just thinking of the crap plug in timers like I use for my fish aquarium light that start jamming and making ratling noises after a couple of years usage.
