What tubes are these. Philips 2' 40w 55's?

Yeh not really sure what went wrong with these? Philips tubes should last ages short of 2 years is painful! I may put a couple in at home somewhere! When I build a set of steps with a small roof on linking top and bottom tunnels I am going to install that 2X40W fitting I have....

looking at the end blacking on the right tube it does not look quite what id expect from a tube that went EOL normally (normally you just get a nice uniform Sock) Have you checked the Current output on the EC40 59 ballasts? if theres a couple shorted turns (or if tridonic where inept) it may be over driving the tubes some... a 2ft 40W tube is rated for 0.88A (880Ma)
