Retards on the loose!
Don't know if you can see clearly but can anyone spot the unbelievable wiring balls up going on here? This was a floodlight on an mod site I repaired the other week!

It's not fair for me to comment as I know already but bet a good few members see this!!!!

They've used the earth as the live out then took it straight to the lamp bypassing the ballast. In fact is the gear bypassed all together

Looking closer it's that wrong it would be hard to explain. Yeah I've got it see if others get it

Phil can you figure it out Very Happy
AngryHorse   [14 Sep, 2015 at 11:13 PM]
OMG, you can`t properly open these pictures up like you can on ATL, but from what I can see, the phase goes direct to both earth AND the ballast, theres NOTHING feeding the the cell, other than the lamp feed from the ballast, and why they thought the cell return goes back direct to the GES is anybodys guess!
AngryHorse   [14 Sep, 2015 at 11:17 PM]
Also the cell is taking the full 2.5KV from the ignitor!
Kev   [14 Sep, 2015 at 11:18 PM]
You can open these pictures up??? Can't see the phase going to earth?
AngryHorse   [14 Sep, 2015 at 11:19 PM]
You can`t open it right up like on ATL, it only makes it 3% bigger if that.
Kev   [14 Sep, 2015 at 11:19 PM]
Oh looking at the connector blocks it does look like it's doing that but it's going to the ground nut here is a clue apart from the minor fire on the lamp holder this did work!
AngryHorse   [14 Sep, 2015 at 11:20 PM]
Look at the live at the block, from what I can see it has 2 earths coming from it?
Danny   [14 Sep, 2015 at 11:21 PM]
I'll have a chat with Jonathan and see if we can sort that out because I noticed that when I was on my computer as well
AngryHorse   [14 Sep, 2015 at 11:22 PM]
It can`t have done the cell any good, carrying the start and run current!
Kev   [14 Sep, 2015 at 11:34 PM]
Lol it's just the picture there is a nut that earths the gear tray there. They have run the lamp live out of the ballast after the ignitor through the cell!
AngryHorse   [14 Sep, 2015 at 11:42 PM]
Then how that worked?, that means the cell would have been fed with 2.5KV for a second, then down to 100 volts as the lamp stabilized!
Kev   [14 Sep, 2015 at 11:45 PM]
I'm not really sure at all!!!! Maybe it was a thermal cell?
AngryHorse   [14 Sep, 2015 at 11:49 PM]
Who did this anyhow, even the standard house basher could have worked this out?
versalift09   [15 Sep, 2015 at 06:27 PM]
Yeah you're on it guys unbelievably they have wired the cell between the choke and the lamp! It survived as it was a thermal cell, and so during the day it was purely acting like the lamp was removed! The cell is dated 99 so it did a good few years lol
Kev   [15 Sep, 2015 at 09:25 PM]
I mean what a fuck up! What some people do is just unreal! Surprised
HIDLamp   [04 Jun, 2016 at 06:41 PM]
There is too much wrong with this. I'd have got this right when I was 12
