GE F48 Power Groove (full view)

This isn't a real fitting, rather just a what I'd guess you could call a 'test board' (but we're looking at the lamps, not what they're mounted on!)...
Shown here are 4 General Electric 4-foot VHO 'Power Groove' lamps (this view to show the whole length).
The 'grooves' are to provide more surface area so it gives more light (why the first groove has a long space I don't know)
These are 1500ma lamp current & 110w each.
They're also a fair bit heavier than a 'normal' lamp

I always thought these were cool, I consider it just luck that I found some at a reasonable price.
...
I believe T17's & PG17's were actually made up until last year (quite surprising considering how rare it is to even see one in use)
I guess the few remaining fittings/lanterns will eventually be doomed to the scrap bin (especially if T12 VHO lamps are eventually discontinued)
I'd love to see "the making of" for one of these!
