That's horrible but surreal. Never had mouse troubles coz i've always been round loads of cats. looks difficult to control!

Time to sack the cat!
lampy   [06 Feb, 2019 at 08:08 PM]
bet it stinks of mice piss in there, seen this nesting in other paper and boxes etc in the past

Always going to get mice in any outbuilding unfortunately, especially when you're surrounded by fields... This is not as bad as it looks TBH. It did smell a bit pissy, but it was localised to a trail from one end of the box to the other and there was only a couple of sleeves that were ruined. After going through the box, there was a couple of tubes in that had smashed pins anyway, so two spare sleeves!

Anywho, mouse hole is now sealed, a couple of traps put down, this has all been cleaned up and my boxes are all stored vertically now so hopefully won't get used as a nest again!

Hope they are non killing traps lol. My georgie never used to kill the mice when she bought them in so we would end up chasing them around the house. We had a few running round under the floorboards once.

I know where they were coming in and I'm sure this was a disused nest so hopefully won't catch any. Our cats both catch mice regularly, sometimes they bring them home and play with them so I have to go and get it from them and set it free lol! However they do eat them sometimes Confused

Kill them all with fire! I shoot the bastard things when I see them on my patio...

lol! I wouldn't shoot mice but did shoot quite a few rats a couple of years ago when a bunch of them decided to start living in our stables! Horrible things they are

I try and kill as many as I can because it’s just fields to the back of my house. Every now and again one or two will get in the house and I use killing traps lol. Don’t use poison cause they will always die somewhere you can’t get too and stink the place out lol.

I’ve had this before! There are electronic mice deterents don’t know how good they are

If the cat's can't get into the outhouse that is your problem... As a former IT i can confirm that cats do keep mice under control. One of my former workplaces had a cat that was running around and they didnt like it, and decision was made to exterminate him (it was a very "we follow prescribed protocol" sort of place)... So i snatched him away before they could get at him. So ONE cat removed from the place. And he was the only one. The next day our optic fiber backplane was eaten alive (you could stand in front of the rack and see the LINK lights dropping cluster by cluster), where there were fibers there were now pieces of fibers and poop

It's good you saved him, I love cats! I found another nest today in a box sat on the floor Sad luckily it was just a packaging box that an item was originally posted in so I just binned it. I'm going to look into them rodent deterrent plug in things, not sure if they're a con or if they actually work!
XmasLightGuy   [08 Feb, 2019 at 03:00 AM]
Don't see many mice here. The few times one has made its way in the house, its a matter of set a trap & get rid of the little rodent.

Out in the yard squirrels are a far worse problem...talk about true destructive varments, if it were legal (and safe) to shoot the little fuckers I'd be very tempted to do so. LOL .too bad they don't sell something like a bugzapper, but for squirrels...
Ash   [08 Feb, 2019 at 12:55 PM]
The big cages for rats (where you fiddle with the bait and the door closes, without harm to the creature) dont work for squirrels ?
FrontSideBus   [08 Feb, 2019 at 03:58 PM]
Got loads of squirrels and I’d shoot them too but I’m now allowed because “‘er indoors” thinks they are cute lol...
