Good save..Bet they stink too. LOL

Cracking save! The 20W version of this was what got me into light collecting! Nothing beats old Fitz's!

Amazing save i rescued a PP Not long back that was in worse condition than this and it cleaned up nicely although i had to strip it to bits and bath the spine in hot water

I wonder if Mr Muscle would work on this without damaging the paint.

Straight up used bleach on my 20W didn't do it any harm.

I do own a LP40 that I found in Austin, Texas brand new in the box. it came with GE lamp.

I used Vinegar on mine. As mad as it sounds it cleaned a diffuser up from an a sickly brown colour from all its years of being in a smoking environment, to absolutely perfect condition. No reason why it wouldn't work on paint too.

I've also used vinegar on other gear. Can confirm it's a good cleaner!

I normally strip them down and wash in hot water & washing up liquid. I want to make sure the labels remain in tact on this one so will try vinegar or just use soapy water & a cloth without actually soaking it in water. Vinegar is great stuff, it's super cheap and cleans many things. Also great with chips.

Disassemble it and soak all the parts in a washingup/bleach mix mix for a few minutes and scrub the outsides well. obviously dont submerge anything with labels/ballasts put bits somewhere where they'll dry quickly as you don't want contacts corroding. Caked on nicotine needs a good soak.

Oven cleaner (sodium hypochlorite based). But beware it will destroy any paint etches or labels. Mask off the label with something like big patch of tape over a piece of paper to prevent the sticking of the tape to the label itself. Don't wet the tape patch much or it will unstick or leak
