Rescued from the tip ten minutes ago No idea what it is yet...but I spotted the shape of the box as a 4' fitting a mile off, then saw a T12 lampholder poking out. Managed to speak to the gent dropping it off before they unloaded it, so it was saved. Won't have a chance to look closer until later...wonder what it is...

There’s better stuff in your local tip than what’s on eBay most of the time.

Our tip are massively strict on the "once stuff comes in, it never leaves" rule so there's usually nothing to be found. This was a very rare save that was only possible as I spotted it before it touched the ground.

Good save! I don’t know why the are so strict, better stuff gets upcycled than sent to landfill.

Sadly not the original fitting - rather what the Thorn fitting probably replaced.

our local authority has a motto reduce reuse recycle, so i use the reuse as my excuse!
