Big scary 100W doorstop
My Ballast arrived today.
Never used any sort of HID type gear bar my 20W metal halide so not too sure what to do now but it looks like a quality made gateway into HID lighting.

I could imagine! Seen some lamps on here that make a 100W look like a fairy light!

1kw SON/MH Parmar ballasts are certainly hefty lumps!

Christ, I don't think i'd want to drop one of those buggers on my toes! I got a massive unknown pair of transformers I left at my parents house. They might still be there... Razz

I've got a Philips 1kw SON ballast and It's very hard trying to even pick it up as the smooth sides means its impossible to grip and getting your fingers under it is tricky lol.
