Very nice. The ballast in my penthouse lamp looks very similar.

I love these old Parmar chokes, they're real work horses

Proper bricks. I'm experimenting with the fitting. Ordered a 24WHO as it'll just about fit. This means it'll be running on a cheap chinky plastic "Osram" thing for a while. What common older ballasts do you reckon it'd get away with running a 24W T5? Wouldn't live to see this thing be replaced with cheap chinese tat.

A 2ft 18/20w ballast should run a 24w T5 just fine I think

That Parmar choke is lovely. Looks as good as the day it was made.

Nah, won't be a standard 2ft. Too good to be true. It's mint. Gonna be very careful with it.

24w T5 HO tubes operate at 295ma, this is within range of a 2ft 18/20w choke. Look up a Tridonic EC 18, some of them say what lamps they operate on them including lamp current

I have a few assorted 18W's. It must be a small one to fit. Will definitly give this a try.
