A lone SOX survivor...
Lighting up some garages fairly near me is this lone GEC Z9530 lantern, one of a pair and sadly the only one that works (and it has been that way for a long time!) This installation probably isn't council-maintained, as it would have been swept away by their thorough LED purge a couple of years ago.

Same, back then our street and surrounding areas used to be almost 100% SOX lit. Confused

My childhood was under Mercury and SON, but i can very much join in about the simplish, classic aesthetic of the luminaire itself. Everything made nowadays in contrast tries to look like a gadget
