1996 Osram SON-R 400W full power
A unique lamp that was only sold in the UK, first by GEC and then by Osram. This is the 400W variety with an internal snap starter. The othher 310/360W variety was more popular as it was a drop in replacemnt for HPM lamps with only selecting another ballast tap. This pictures shows the lamp fully warmed up.

Cool Cool , didn’t know mercury gear ran these with just a simple tap change?

To be honest, I'd rather work under sodium than the light given off by the MBFR!
