1983 Osram Power Star HQI-TS 1000W/D
The biggest version of Osram series of FC2 based instant restart metal halide lamp. The HQI-TS Series of lamp was launched in 1970 with the 400W Model. Later a 250W and this 1000W lamp were added, as well as 240W and 400W NAV-TS lamps.

These lamps are made of quartz and give of a nice ozone smell when staring. Obviously extremely bright.

I didn't realise they did these in 1Kw flavour! They must get mega hot!

Is this during run-up or at full brightness? Also: This lamp don't have a UV doped quartz outer, as the doping was yet invented. I've an Osram HQI-TS 70W/WDL pre-Excellence with a fused quartz outer.

That's an impressive lamp! I didn't realise there was a 1000W HQI-TS. Cool
