Aqua-Signal 1044 24v DC: Mains voltage conversion.
I decided, as the vast majority of these fittings you see in use are mains powered that I would convert mine over.
I kept the original wiring harness intact so it's easily reversible but I think it's a bit more versatile with some decent mains gear in it!

As the fitting is made in Germany, I thought it only fitting to use some nice German Magnetek chokes.
Also in keeping with the luminaires marine heritage, all the cable used is high quality Tri-Rated cable.

I ordered a load of PFC caps for this and something else and just as I get the shipping confirmations I find my box of caps lol.. D'oh! PFC fitted now and also tidied up the wiring a bit.

Any good modern caps out there that dont go to 1/2 capacity in a few years ?

the best to use i think are motor run caps they are rated at 400v so should last longer at 230v the LCR ones are good
