Big energy saving from 300watt
|
|

5500lm @ 300w to 3300lm @ 35w. A fair bit less light but If I stuck a 70w lamp in it would 7000lm, quite a bit more! 3300lm is perfect IMO. Nice and cosy

3300 lumens is perfect for a living room

Would be interesting to try a 70w lamp on one of those dimming ballasts.

Nice one! I should try a similar conversion some time - better colour rendering than the merc!

Great conversion. I had one of these lamps way back and gave it to my brother as it made my room which is quite small too hot!

There were some GE Constant colours on eBay a while back for £11 each

Dimming halides doesn`t work, even on a proper ballast, we tried this at one of the meets with a 250watt HQI-T, all they do is go green!

Thats a good idea that, looks really good considering the overall profile of the light. Nice job.

I ordered a couple of those 35w GE CMH-TD's in 830 to see what a warmer colour is like.

Nice conversion and big energy saving

Lamp & ballast is doing well but the cheap lampholder is starting to fall apart. The spring contacts are losing their spring and a couple of chunks of ceramic has fallen off. Got a propper Vossloh Schwabe holder ready to go in when I can be bothered.
