Solar LED Cat's eyes for pedestrians? The council estate near me now has these on the pavement whenever you have to cross the road. I am standing with my back to the road and there are two on the other side. Really? Taxpayer money at work here! I bet these aren't cheap and I bet they cost a fortune! Do people really need these?

I bet those don't last long - all it needs is some bored teenaged and something heavy / sharp and they'll be smashed in no time. Recessed uplighters of any kind are generally a bad idea in public spaces - too much of a tempting target!

I know some mains uplighters on a public footpath and most filled with water or were smashed.

They put them along the A5300 and they last all night even when it’s been cloudy so at least they are frugal on the power.
