180w SOX on steel columns doesn't go too well lol they shake them selves to death in high winds.

lol - nice pic. There were and i think a few left on the M62 just at the bottom of the hill approaching Oldham junction with some very wide span arms. You can see the arms shaking even with the surrounding vigration of traffic and HGVs.

This is near Junction 6 of the M62. Not many left now as most of them have been removed, columns and all. They still work but for how much longer is hard to say.
They are all group switched and sometimes I would see them all come on at the same time... a sight to behold!

Not having been to Blackpool since I was 17, yesterday I noticed Thorn`s `Rocade twin`, in use on the M6, the Rocade is no longer made, but I`d never seen them in use in the UK before. Shocked
Theres also still a few GEC Z8526, (in really tidy condition), still doing faithful service on the M55 Very Happy

Yeh. I noticed these had gone when i went down there a couple weeks back. Sad times
