yes they are good in that application, they were designed to replace/upgrade hpi/hpi plus. the datasheet shows mercury running currents but the website says son aswell?

Sadly they came a bit late to save HID installations

no doubt they won't be on the market for that long but you never know. i intend to get the whole set inc the open rated ones while i still can. belgium made hpi's are still on ebay but expensive in most cases

Nice lamp. I've not seen these before. Where's the best place to get one before they vanish to make way for more LED crap?
