Mazda Pop Pack (closeup)
This is possibly as rare as a 8' grey sided Pop Pack can get. Until seeing this, i had never seen a Mazda Pop pack before. I'm reliably informed that the blue writing makes this fitting even rarer.
The fitting here came from a building which had in recent times become derelict and open to the elements. It was one of many 8' fittings of the same type, single and twin tube, slowly beginning to rust as the building began to deteriorate. The building has since been demolished, but not before a fellow collector rescued a small handful of these fittings. They very generously let me have one of these super rare fittings, so many many thanks go to them.
At the time of picturing, the fitting had only just been brought back. The label is untouched and stayed that way through the cleanup of the fitting.

absolutely amazing to see, and i 8 foot too. Your right on this being uber rare, the only time i have ever seen these grey sided mazda branded pop packs was in a mental hospital called Rausby asylum in Lincolnshire way back in 2003 which was where my atlas Pink 5 foot tube came from, they were used as back lit pelmit lights in the main hall, they had this exact same blue mazda sticker, and were in a similar condition to this one as found, well done for saving it.

I had stored the fitting in the loft for a short while but rust started settling in again, so its stood up in the corner of my bedroom atm until I can find somewhere to install it, preferably in my room, but considering I want to also install all the 8w bulkheads I have, its a toss up between either one.

When I got this, it came with a Crompton Crompack diffuser. Just want a Crompack fitting now in 8' to fit it to.

all you need now is a De-Luxe warm white to go with it if its to go in your room

I've now found a place for this fitting, its at the back of the shelf along the far wall of my bedroom, facing upwards, sporting a prismatic diffuser, and when i get round to wiring it in, will be used as an uplighter of sorts.
