Testing board MB(F)/U 80W and MB(F)/U 125W for B22d-3 Many thanks to my friend magslight. He built me a test board for these lamps. I just "supplied" the components for it. The photo shows operation with an 80W lamp and a 120W lamp.

The Crompton is unusual, its not the normal Philips shape, I get the impression it’s Thorn made? Smile , did Crompton ever source lamps from Thorn?

I very much like the shape of this Crompton lamp. It is made by Philips in Holland in 1978. I don't think I have ever seen a Crompton lamp that was made by Thorn but it's possible.
