100W R40 SBMV Lamp from James Got this one made By James a good 4 years ago now! how time flies this lamp was made by request of me when James offered heh its a 100W SBMV assembly inside a R40 bulb with no reflective coating (the slight haze you see if a small layer of phosphor since this uses the same Bulbs used in reptile lights and its to limit the UV output) Big thanks to James for this! I keep it Packed away very safely along with a couple other unoptanium lamps

indeed it looks awesome run(ing) up Very Happy Sadly it has a small defect in the glass that makes me Worry its going to Leak on me Sad but i think its holding... (been a good 3 years since i last tested it so its over due LOL) when I get the courage to test this next time ill Make sure to Grab some pictures heh

If you light it and then quickly dim it (use a variac or bring a small ballast in series) to remove the glare of the filament, you will see a special effect. The mercury discharge then generates much more UV and the bulb will fluoresce in pink from the vanadate + aerosil coating. Its not often you can see an arc tube operating through the fluorescing coating!

Already did that once James Smile quite Nice indeed (shortly after we last met I saved up and got a Brand new 10A Variac i say shortly in that saving up started then but took a good year or so to gather the funds to buy it! was expensive) once the House bashers are done ill light it and grab some pictures (I even can do a 120FPS(maybe 240FPS) slow mo video of it striking up if anyone is interested)
