I tested a modern tridonic the other day that had been submerged under water it seemed to run the lamp ok but as soon as you added an earth it went down
lampy   [10 May, 2016 at 12:04 AM]
think this would have too with an earth, it was making an odd sound
Kev   [10 May, 2016 at 12:05 AM]
Lol probably the moisture burning away!
FrontSideBus   [10 May, 2016 at 05:28 PM]
Lol put this on LG, they'll have a field day with it.
Danny   [10 May, 2016 at 06:07 PM]
Lol some of them are crazy on there!
lampy   [10 May, 2016 at 06:39 PM]
why would lighting group have a field day with this?
Kev   [10 May, 2016 at 07:20 PM]
Because they would lecture you on how unsafe it is lol
FrontSideBus   [10 May, 2016 at 07:23 PM]
Especially Dor-cockend-123 lol.
lampy   [10 May, 2016 at 08:50 PM]
sometimes electricians can do the worst bodges seen as they will get away with it knowing what to avoid lol
RobTDCI   [10 May, 2016 at 09:15 PM]
The main reason I gave up posting on LG was because of the 5000 word Essays full of crap that I'm not interested in that got posted in the comments. I remember when I posted a pic of my Illuminated ceiling. the comments went crazy, arguments about DMX controllers.
Danny   [10 May, 2016 at 09:16 PM]
That globe collector is a bloody pain for that the utter shit he spews in comments most of the time going off topic or into stupid mathematical things... But I have to say it he is a very clever bloke otherwise
lampy   [10 May, 2016 at 09:23 PM]
DMX, thought that was cinema dimming equipment?
FrontSideBus   [10 May, 2016 at 09:48 PM]
Globe Collector certainly knows his stuff there is no denying that but sometimes he doesn't half do my head in, like asking questions or making asumptions about stuff that I have put into the description and/or in the information fields!
Andy   [10 May, 2016 at 10:17 PM]
I don't mind Globe Collector as he is an intelligent chap with a lot of knowledge but doreen is a damn cretin. He is a 'Hero Member' on LG which equates to constant shit talker!
AngryHorse   [10 May, 2016 at 10:43 PM]
My fluorescents on top of my units were best, I got dor and ash reading me the fire regs! Laughing "line the top of the units with tin foil, just in case a tube breaks", and "put something under the tubes to stop them falling down when the tube breaks, resulting in them setting the dust on fire"!!
RobTDCI   [10 May, 2016 at 11:34 PM]
Some of those guys do have a way of taking all the fun out of this hobby. I just leave them to it and am glad there is this site which suits my needs.
Kev   [10 May, 2016 at 11:43 PM]
Globe spuer really knows his stuff that's for sure but his replies are so long winded and compmicated I can't be bothered to read them as I don't really understand what he's talking about anyway!
Danny   [11 May, 2016 at 12:10 AM]
Yeah globe collector is a very clever bloke though I can't fault him there he really does know his stuff him. But some of his comments are that long I just simply don't have the time to read them. It makes me feel awful in a way, but he doesn't tend to get straight to the point, just going around it confusing it,
XmasLightGuy   [12 May, 2016 at 04:56 AM]
@lampy:
Yep DMX is used for Cinema/Concerts/etc (basically any professional lighting that needs specialized controlling)

LOL that there is a plant growing out of this Laughing
And 'safe' or not it'd be fun to take outside, connect it up, stand back & flip the switch!
