oddly the blue ones are coiled coil and the green is single coil. does anyone know how old these might be?

Any date codes on the lamp etches like 6L or 9G etc

these are great, i have loads of coloured tungsten lamps, these are old colour sprayed lamps, where its a dull paint sprayed onto the outside of a clear lamp. Prob 1960's or earlier, these type of colour sprayed lamps go right back to the 1930's as i found a load in a derelict cinema rated a 210 volt, and some having an apointement to the king, so they can date back a long way.

you wouldnet have any 60 watt ES capped yellow GLS lamps would you, they dont need to be this early dull painted finish, the later glossy outer yellow is really want i'm after, i use one in a 1970's downlight and its just gone, carnt find one anywhere at 60 watt ES.

Could'nt see a date code Danny but I might try with them lit.Thats interesting Lampy! the original box they were in was very old and dusty and sorry I dont have any ES yellow lamps

Date codes look like 2G for green and 3B for the blue

These look much older than 1970s, from the packaging I would say late 50s/early 60s. Are you sure the date codes are not numeric instead, ie like 26 and 38 instead of 2G/3B?

Lampy, we have dozens of Osram Yellow E27 capped lamps in an old store room at work, they are in the T60 / softone shape bulb though rather than normal A60. But still with proper deep yellow colour. Any good for you?

hi James, yes if they are the traditional deep yellow of the old 80's and 70's and 60's coloured yellow lamps. I thought the softone philips lamps were a washed out pale yellow colour? as if they the really pale washed out yellow, they prob would not look right. any chance of some photos? cheers

I went up to the attic above the factory today to check and found they are actually 100W - but still in deep yellow colour, not softone. They just have the sqauare shape softone bulbs. I believe they were made as anti insect lights. Next week i will make a photo.

can you check they are not any 60 watt lamps? think 100 watts will be too hot for the fitting i'm using them in, not had any luck finding any yet, got a crompton harliquin amber in currently, but its way too dim at 25 watts
