An abandoned mercury lantern lying in the road

I almost did a double take when I saw this - I was taking a walk to explore the village we were staying in when I spotted this old Spanish "traybake"-type lantern lying in the road on the doorstep of an abandoned building. A look on Google Maps revealed that 3 years ago, this lantern was still mounted to the building in question and had a bowl. My parents obviously didn't want this in their car (shame, lol) but needless to say as it was disconnected from mains, I ended up with the lamp and ballast.
