DIY vs Thorn 16w 2D adapters
Thorn Magnetic ballasted adapter for 2 pin lamps vs my DIY electronic version for 4 pin lamps.

The Thorn is less bulky than mine as I'm using a standard project box but mine is about a quarter of the weight.

The Mk2 will have to have a smaller base and maybe a smaller enclosure with just the bare PCB of the driver inside.

We all know which one will last the longest though :)

Edit: I've since drilled ventilation holes in the top and bottom.

Got two going now, one in the hallway and one on the landing. Runs nice and cool and gives the lamp a good couple of seconds of preheat. I can return that Thorn adapter back into the collection.
