Here is another Fitzgerald MLP8 that I hacked up and whacked a HF in ballast in just because I have plenty of the fittings and wanted one I could test the HF gear in. All mods are reversible though.

That does indeed look like a useful ballast. Might have to get a couple myself. Is it warm start? The cheapest I can find them is here £8.99 delivered

The matchbox blue is instant start iirc. The matchbox red are programmed start but are much too big to fit in these mini battens.

Shame it's instant start. Still might get a couple, useful little things

instant start can be ok, if lamp ran long hours. starting them once per day and burn long hours is best.
