Looks good, a shame these weren't more common really as they may have been more suitable than 865 in some cases.

I dunno, it's been a day or two since I last lit these up but I remember them being very "grey" if that makes sense. 5000k IMO is not really a pleasant colour.

I do know what you mean, mostly my colour temperature preference tops out at 4000K but I do have a soft spot for 950, though there the extra CRI likely helps. 860 or 865 can be quite good in high light levels too but the modern way of sticking 6500K LED panels in is definitely not nice!

A couple of weeks ago I had colour 850, 954 and 47 tubes lit and at low light levels (from a single tube in the darkness) they do look a fairly miserable grey colour - much like the British sky for parts of the year.

That's the thing with daylight, for it to look good you really need a decent light level, a pair of 58W/850 in a twin batten would probably look brilliant here and of course many times brighter!

Interesting, don’t think I’ve ever seen an 850 before

Now I shall be on the lookout for these - I need to get more tubes of the T8 and T12 width that is of the 850, 860 and even 860 and other uncommon colour temperatures/colour rendering
