Thorn Alpha 1 lanterns

Old pictures from my lantern travels in 2018 (finally - I'm uploading them in collages!) The somewhat futuristic design of the Thorn/Atlas Alpha 1 has always been a favourite with me! Working downwards from the top left: 2 Alpha 1s in Great Yarmouth (private installation), Alpha 1 in Caxton (disused private installation), 2 pictures of the same one in Welwyn Garden City (probably gone now), dayburning example in Cambridge (still there but no longer dayburning)
