Philips MI26, Col 44.
This MI26 stood proudly outside our house lighting the quiet cul-de-sac for the past 25 years or so. That was until the 27'th February 2018, where a TRT Aspect randomly replaced it. A label I had made up and had placed in the base was simply placed back in with the writing facing the backboard, leading me to assume it was lost.

There has been LED replacements cropping up on our estate for a while now, however all these have been due to dead lamps. Oddly this one was still working the night before, so quite why they replaced it I don't know.

The next morning after i noticed its removal, I went downstairs and found it on the living room floor along with two other examples. Turns out my father had seen the guy doing the work, and had gone out and saved the lantern for me.

The lantern means so much to me, as it plays a major part in my love of street lighting, SOX especially. There was two immediately outside out house, just 4 months later, the second fell to the cull, luckily saved too. Looking out our front window will never be the same again however, I always watched these fire up and warm up. To see that cold hash light now is just awful.

Both lanterns now will not be restored, they will be left as is, as a homage to the memories attributed to them.
