Thorn ????? 4ft Fitting

Picked this up at the not so local car boot last weekend, a Thorn something-or-other 4ft 40w fitting, it's in need of a refurb (or at least a thorough T-cut) but of course it works as good as new.

I remember seeing pictures of these before, IIRC they were sold in Woolworths? Can anyone shed any more light on it?

The open back is how they came from new I believe. Not sure if there should be two of the ceiling mount brackets that you can see one of in this picture?

Thorn did a four foot version of the ‘minipack’ called the Homelite, but they came with a diffuser, catalogue number was FHLD 40?

I guess this could have had a diffuser long ago! I've found the FHLD40 in a catalogue on Lamptech, I think the cross section looks different to this one. I'll clean the crud out of this next chance I get and see if there's a label in it or some form of ID (other than 'Thorn' on the ballast)

Should have either an Omega or Winfield label in it....
