Thorn ????? 4ft Fitting

Picked this up at the not so local car boot last weekend, a Thorn something-or-other 4ft 40w fitting, it's in need of a refurb (or at least a thorough T-cut) but of course it works as good as new.

I remember seeing pictures of these before, IIRC they were sold in Woolworths? Can anyone shed any more light on it?

The spine is open backed and is how they came from new I believe.

That one is an Omega branded batten (often sold by Woolworths as an FW2 batten). I have one of these, with white end caps. As far as I know, the white end capped ones were sold in Woolworths as own brand, the grey and capped ones were sold under the Omega brand, as a bug=dget fitting.

I thought these were a version of the clipper?
