StreetLight #351

MV bucket light. As of last fall, there's still some of these in use in the little mountain town where this pic was taken...but LEDs are showing up there. (at one point - only a few years ago there were even still MV cobraheads along the section of highway through town)

Note1: those solar panels are quite old - probably a hot-water system from the 80's - not electric.
Note2: pic is a frame-grab from video taken from a moving car so quality isn't that great.

How many of these gems are still out there in the hills, long and forgotten, but still in full service Cool

I think I counted 6 or so in this one little town (probably more there in the parts I couldn't see from the highway!). There's likely many of these and other MV lanterns still around the small mountain towns Smile

But sadly LEDs are showing up even up there Sad

And down here where I'm at (out of the mountains, sorta near a big city) LEDs are showing up everywhere...HID of all types is quickly disappearing..
