I've just been reading up about Metropolitan Vickers, they did so much heavy electrical engineering including lighting, transformers, turbines, generators railway traction equipment, defense and even the first commercially available transistorised computer! Nice old fitting BTW!

I was the other way lol, I knew they did all the heavy stuff and was surprised to find out they did lighting stuff.

What FSB said. I've seen a lot of old M.V. electrical switch gear & panels etc, from working in a steel mill that had roots back to the 1920's. Didn't know they were involved with lighting at all, especially fluorescent stuff until this popped up on eBay, and local to me too!
