True. I would have put money on the batteries being completely dead at 25 years old though! Can't believe they're taking any charge at all

How come it has 2 wires going to one lamp holder and 1 wire at the other? Also what does the little potentiometer do labelled "VR1"? The battery says "replace after 4 years", I bet most fluorescent emergency lights in public have outdated batteries.
