LED Keyboard Illumination

Wireless LED illuminated keyboard. Comes in handy for those late night gaming sessions in the dark.

For the last several years I've been gaming on my home cinema system which consists of a 4k HDTV and a full separate 5.1 sound system.
I don't even have a desk anymore for the PC so I use this wireless keyboard and mouse combo when using it.
Keyboard is Corsair K63 mechanical board with it's matching lapboard dock and the mouse is a Logitech G Pro.
The lapboard has nice foam on the bottom so it's really quite comfy when using on the sofa in front of the telly.

Low level red lighting is being provided by a couple of BLI 20w reds in a couple of Fitzgerald lightpacks.

I have the Corsair K63 wired red. There was a trolley at the back of the shop with two K63 keyboards for Â£20 each so I got two. Sold one and kept the other. I have a few Corsair products such as my power supply which has been reliable. And of course the keyboard. I used to use the Sabre RGB mice but they only lasted about a year before the pointer would jump around the screen. Cleaning did not solve the issue and both of them did the same after around the same time. One of the most reliable mice is my Microsoft Intellimouse. It's old and the plastic is smooth on the left click and sides from use but it's still fine Cool

Iâ€™m on the 2nd Corsair PSU after the first died and Iâ€™m also starting to have issues with Corsair RAM in both the media and gaming PCâ€™s. Used to be solid gear but Iâ€™m disappointed in their newer stuff tbh.

I think I got my PSU around 2014 and it gets lots of use. Did the failed one take out any components? Yeah, the newer stuff probably won't be made to as high standard anymore, like most things these days.

Older Corsair PSU's used to be made by Seasonic, not sure if they still are. Seasonic are (or were?) some of the best power supplies money can buy.

The one that failed was an HX1000i. The voltages were fine but it wouldnâ€™t output a psu good signal to let the CPU start. RMA replacement seems good so far. That was back in 2015. The best PSUâ€™s I used to always use and had no trouble with were the old Taganâ€™s. They seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth just like my old favourite Motherboard manufacturer: Abit.

Abit, now there's a name that brings back memories! I used to love Abit boards, it was a sad say when they went under (or got bought out? Can't remember exactly what happened to them).

Back when I was building PCs, pretty much all good quality power supplies on the market were actually manufactured by either Seasonic or FSP, the latter being cheaper & not as reliable but still OK for cheaper builds. I always used to try & persuade people to go for an actual Seasonic branded PSU, they were always worth the extra few quid IMO. The 400w Seasonic in my PC must be knocking on for ten years old now and works fine still, same one in my parents PC is also working fine. I've got a basic OEM 300w Seasonic PSU in my HTPC and that also still works fine to this day.

Interestingly I did read an article somewhere about the PSUs Seasonic made for other brands (such as Corsair) being much less reliable than actual Seasonc branded units! I often wondered if they were slung together with less quality control or they used cheaper components in them?
