Eol fluorescent tube mercury arc rectifier
Here I have used an eol fluorescent tube, one with a completely gone end where there is no tungsten filament left at all. This forms a pair of anodes, the other end forms the self heated cathode. This allows me to run the tube on dc and even a second load on full wave rectified mains with only two diodes.
