Reconfiguration required!
After just an hours run this morning, my 1KW halide lamp heated the granite inlays on my kitchen table to such an extent you could have fried eggs on them!!, given two hours I reckon it would have destroyed the components on the board!, so I need to rase the lamps central heat area right out of the way of the gear!

Might not like being ran that way though.

best to run them horizontal, the cheapest fitting would be one designed for remote gear hydroponics application

Did you need a different ignitor rich?
AngryHorse   [01 Oct, 2019 at 04:09 AM]
I didn’t need it no, but Eddies has loads of the proper ones in so why not Very Happy , superimposed are far better ignitors anyway, and the proper one for this ballast will start both halides and SON.
Also the HIT1000 is a universal lamp

With as much as superimposed are good, i have never seen problems with ES50 ballast dependant ignitor. Those ES50 are in most 80s/90s/early 00s SON lanterns in Israel

Yeah running some 1kW halides and mercs has ruined my big cutting board... Laughing I'm surprised at how compact that choke looks compared with the Philips BHL that I have.
The 1kw BSN that I have just bought an enclosure for is about 50% bigger than the BHL too lol.

Oddly enough too, it’s so quiet when running Very Happy
