Ballast IR test.

Decided instead of binning this 220v Chinky VS clone ballast, I might as well leave it outside in the weather for a while. Before I put it out I tested it at 1000v and got a big fat offscale reading of 9.99 GigaOhms.
Wonder how it will fair? Itâ€™s already been out for a week or two.

I love how they put â€˜German technologyâ€™ on it, as if weâ€™re all stupid and think itâ€™s a quality ballast!

Yeah. Another favourite is â€œAssembled in such and suchâ€ which basically means it was all made in China and a few bits were bolted on in the said country.

What material is the slot insulation (wrapper around the coil straight section) in this one made of ?
